NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Proposals to implement stricter voting requirements in Tennessee are scheduled to be heard by the Senate.

One measure sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris, a Collierville Republican, would require people seeking to register to vote to document their citizenship with driver’s licenses, passports or birth certificates.

The other proposal by Sen. Bill Ketron, a Murfreesboro Republican, would require voters to show photo identification at the polls.

Both measures are up for a full Senate vote Monday evening. Their companion bills have been assigned to a House subcommittee.
