The Fourth Annual Law School for Journalists forum will be held Sept. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.
A panel of media lawyers, reporters and bloggers will discuss how traditional access, open records and open meetings laws are adapting to the new media environment.
Brooke Gladstone, co-host of NPR’s “On the Media,” will moderate a discussion about The Commercial Appeal’s Web publication of the public records database of the identities of concealed-weapon carry permit holders with editor Chris Peck and state Sen. Mark Norris, R-Collierville.
The program will offer 4.5 hours of general continuing legal education credit.
