State Sen. Mark Norris, R-Collierville, is urging participation in the Honor Benefit Ride Saturday to raise funds for Christian Brown of Munford, a Marine corporal who was wounded by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan.

The event features a motorcycle ride from Collierville to Munford.

“I hope all area citizens will come out with a great show of their support for Corporal Brown,” said Norris, the Senate majority leader.

Brown received severe internal and external injuries from the IED attack in December. He is receiving care in a Bethesda, Md., hospital.

The Saturday ride will begin at 10 a.m. at the Recycle Biker Shop, 747 West Poplar Avenue in Collierville, with the last bike leaving at noon. It will end in Munford at the Munford Fire Station, 1397 Munford Ave.

The cost is $10 per bike or $5 per passenger. For information, call Dave at (901) 861-0130 or Gill at (901) 351-0878.
