Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris (R-Collierville) will be among participants in the Honor Benefit Ride to raise funds for wounded United States Marine Corp Corporal Christian Brown of Munford.

Norris is urging local citizens to participate in the March 24 event, which features a motorcycle ride from Collierville to Munford. All vehicles are welcome to participate.

Corporal Brown suffered severe internal and external injuries in December in Afghanistan from an improvised explosive device. He is now receiving care in a Bethesda, Maryland hospital.

“I hope all area citizens will come out with a great show their support for Corporal Brown,” said Norris. “Corporal Brown has made tremendous sacrifices for this nation.  I am hopeful that this event will represent an outpouring of support for this local hero.”

The ride will begin at 10 a.m. at the Recycle Biker Shop on 747 West Poplar Ave. in Collierville with the last bike leaving at noon. It will end in Brown’s home town of Munford at the Munford Fire Station. The event is co-sponsored by Dixie Thunder, Patriot Guard, the City of Munford and the Recycle Biker Shop.

“Corporal Brown put his life on the line for this country,” added Norris. “I would like to see this route lined with citizens who show their appreciation for him and his sacrifices.”
