On December 5, 2013, in News 2013, by Mark Norris

In the event of icing conditions that produce electrical outages, the City of Munford will open its emergency shelter at the Munford Recreation Center, 63 College Street. For those citizens unable to make the commute to the center, please call Central Dispatch at 475-4300. Central Dispatch will alert a city employee to be sent to drive residents to the shelter. In the event the 60 College Street facility reaches full capacity, the Munford Fire Station, 1375 Munford Avenue, will also be opened, as will the Boardroom at City Hall, 70 College Street. Residents are asked to bring what supplies they will need, including medications. Pets will be allowed if crated.

The Christmas parade scheduled for Saturday, December 7 at 4:30 will be moved to Monday, December 9 at 7:00 pm should the weather necessitate the change. If Monday proves hazardous due to the second predicted front, the parade will be cancelled. Toys normally collected for Tipton County children along the parade route and as parade entrant fees can be brought to the Munford Fire Station at 1375 Munford Avenue.

The holiday craft fair scheduled for Saturday, December 7 from 8:00 am to noon at the Munford Recreation Center, 63 College Street, will be cancelled in the event of icing conditions.
