On September 26, 2011, Sen. Norris joined Dyersburg State Community College President Dr. Karen Bowyer, Academic Affairs Vice President Mary Anne Sellers, and Institutional Advancement Vice President Youlanda Jones-Wilcox to accept a $10,000 check from AT&T's Trey Rabon and Chuck Thomas to provide scholarships to students pursuing degrees at DSCC's three West Tennessee campuses."
On April 5, 2011, Sen. Norris visited with the Roland family of Collerville and the Fowlkes of Dyersburg while they visited Nashville to discuss state issues affected those with hemophilia and other blood disorders.
