TEMA reviews storm damage

A team of inspectors with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency arrived in Dyersburg Wednesday to survey the damage left by Monday night's storms.
Sen. Mark Norris of State District 32 said he had arranged to meet with the TEMA group, talk to some property owners whose homes suffered and tour the Heckethorn facility that received substantial damage in the strong winds.
"The damage is more localized than the storm that hit about a year and a half ago but it is still very disruptive to some businesses in Dyer County," Norris said. "We are going to ask for disaster-relief declaration through TEMA."
Norris said he also intended to speak with Matt Kisber, the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development in Tennessee to see if any bridge loans could be made available to help businesses recover more quickly.
Heckethorn employees are only working partial shifts at present, he said.
