Norris Elected to Republican Caucus Chairman Post

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- State Senator Mark Norris, (R-Collierville), was elected this week by fellow Senate Republicans to serve as the Senate Majority Caucus Chairman.
The Caucus Chair is the second ranking officer of the Republican Caucus who presides over all meetings and serves in the Legislative Leadership with the Governor and House Leadership Officers. He will also support the re-election of Caucus members, including fund-raising.
“I am honored to serve our Republican Senators and our party in this capacity,” Norris said. “And I look forward to working with the Administration and those legislators across the aisle to improve the lives of Tennesseans.”
As Majority Caucus Chair, Norris will also serve on the Senate Finance Committee.
The Caucus Chair is also active in the political affairs of the party, and, along with other leaders, prepares strategy for party members on critical issues and problems as well as developing unified caucus platforms.
Norris also serves as Chairman of the Economic Development, Transportation and Cultural Affairs Committee of the 16-state Southern Legislative Conference. Additionally, Norris chaired the Senate Transportation and Safety Committee during the 104th General Assembly.
Serving his second term, Norris represents Shelby, Tipton, Lauderdale and Dyer Counties in the Tennessee Senate.
